The Wheelabrator North Andover trash-to-energy plant makes steam. The steam is sent to a turbine-generator to produce electricity. The total amount of steam produced every hour is referred to as the Steam Load. The plant is limited to how much steam it can produce. The steam load is established during the most recent dioxin emission test and can change from time to time.
